Guilt-Free Pizza Crust Recipe
Pizza dough is one of the quickest homemade yeast breads to make. It only has to rise for 15 minutes.
Home-milled flour makes pizza crust delicious and nutritious - no more guilty pizza pleasures.
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups hot water
1/3 cup olive oil
2 tsp. salt
1 egg
4 - 5 cups hard white wheat
1 Tbs. yeast
Directions
Combine water, oil, salt, and egg. Add half of the flour and mix thoroughly. Add yeast and enough flour to make a soft dough. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic (about 5-6 minutes).
Divide dough in half to make two medium-sized pizza crusts. Roll the dough out onto greased pizza pans. Add your pizza toppings and let the pizzas rest for 15 minutes. Bake at 400° for 20-25 minutes.
You can freeze crusts to use later. Roll out the dough on greased pans. Let the crusts rest for 15 minutes. Bake at 400° for 10-12 minutes. Allow crusts to cool and then cover in plastic wrap and freeze. To use, add toppings and bake at 400° for about 15 minutes until the cheese is nice and melty.
